Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  What are the different services and programs offered by Kelleher Associates?

Kelleher Associates has three essential career management sponsored services: (1) career transition/outplacement, both corporate and self-sponsored, (2) executive coaching, and (3) leadership development.

These services are offered at three program levels: (1) Senior Executive, (2) Executive, and (3) Managerial and Professional. On occasion we may be requested, and agree to offer, select Group Workshops.

2.  What are the key elements of the different services and programs?

The key elements of the career transition/outplacement services are separation agreement finalization, assessment (including psychological, skills, interests, values, passions, experience and motivation), resume building, marketing training, interviewing training, networking strategy, offer evaluation and negotiation, office support, and 1:1 consultations to implement.

The key elements of the executive coaching program are situation summary development, client assessment and analysis, design and execution of development plan, and 1:1 consultations to implement.

The key elements of the leadership development plan are intelligence testing and assessment, decision making, strategy development, problem solving, emotional intelligence measurement and assessment, empowerment and accountability implementation, interpersonal relationship assessment and improvement, and team building, and 1:1 and group consultations to implement.

The Senior Executive transition program includes dedicated office equipment, direct secretarial support and is targeted to “C” level executives.

The Executive transition program includes full internet and research library access and full use of Kelleher Associates support staff and is targeted to VP/Director level, department heads, and key functional managers.

The Professional transition program includes full internet and research library access and full use of Kelleher Associates support staff and is targeted to professionals such as attorneys, accountants, and consultants.
Group Workshops, when conducted, typically serve 8-10 people at a time and consist of a two-day, focused program to provide training in job objective development, search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, and interview training. These workshops are targeted at lower level management, plant employees, administrative staff, and other non-exempt personnel.

3.  How are Kelleher Associates services different from other outplacement firms?

Kelleher Associates is distinguished by customized and intimate service and continuous 1:1 consultations, low principal to client ratios (1:15 to 1:20 versus 1:40 to 1:60 for "national" firms), and experienced principals with deep line and human resource backgrounds. In addition, clients have access to all of our principals to make the best use of their program resources.

4.  What are your fees?

We don't publish prices for three reasons. First, since each program is literally tailored to the needs of the individual client, a generic price quote is inappropriate. Second, we don't publish prices for competitive reasons. Third, we take all factors into account, including client resources, before determining a price for our services. We are open and available to discuss a program that fits your needs and is prudently and competitively priced.

5.  Do you help people get jobs?

We need to clarify up front that we are not an executive search firm. We work with and help our clients develop efficient and effective campaigns to secure their next career position. Part of how we do our job is to help our clients work with executive search firms and other resources, but we don't guarantee a job for our clients—no one can. We provide the tools. The success of the search is highly dependent on how hard (and smart) the client works, his or her willingness to collaboratively develop and execute a job search campaign, and the proficiency and quality of his or her contact development.

6.  Are you a recruiting firm?

No.  We do not receive fees from a hiring company when a placement is made; however, we do help our clients work with executive recruiters who are often instrumental in helping our clients find their next position.

7.  Do I have to be company sponsored to secure services from Kelleher Associates?

While we encourage all prospective clients to make a strong effort to secure financial support for our services from a current or previous employer, clients certainly may work with Kelleher Associates and pay for the services themselves.

8.  What are the qualifications of your Principals?

9.  How long will it take before I have a job?

Each client's situation is different and, therefore, we can't predict the duration of any individual's campaign. The length of time for a search is dependent on how hard (and smart) a client works, their willingness to collaboratively develop and execute a job search campaign, and the proficiency and quality of their contact development/personal networking.  In our experience the most significant independent variables determining length of campaign are age, geographic openness/restrictions, organizational level, and salary.

10.    What resources does your firm offer?

In addition to the senior principals of the firm who work with all of our clients on a 1:1 basis, as a client you will have use of office space which is dependent on your program level, administrative support (also program level specific), word processing, telephone answering services and usage, personal on-site voicemail, targeted letters to recruiters and hiring companies, use of office equipment, high speed internet access, a complete library, and access to internal and external networking meetings.

11.  Can you provide me with client references?

Absolutely. After you have met at least one of our principals at our offices for an initial meeting, so we can better understand your needs, we will be happy to provide you with current and former client references whose profiles come closest to your own.

12.  What are your facilities like?

We have modern, well-appointed, functional office space in the Glenhardie Corporate Center, 1255 Drummers Lane in Wayne, Pennsylvania.

13.  What sort of Leadership Development services do you provide?

The key Leadership Development services we provide are intelligence testing and assessment, decision making, strategy development, problem solving, emotional intelligence measurement and assessment, empowerment and accountability implementation, interpersonal relationship assessment and improvement, team building, and 1:1 and group consultations to implement.

14.  What assessment tools do you utilize?

We always use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Life Styles Inventory (LSI).  When indicated, Self Perception and Personality Questionnaires, Leadership Competency Self Assessment, Rorschach Individual Personality Assessment, 360 Assessment, Corporate Personality Assessment, may also be used.  Much of the assessment comes from a deep and extensive 1:1 dialogue with the client.

15.  Can you support individuals remotely?

Kelleher Associates is experienced in and fully capable of handling a downsizing or an individual client in the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.  In certain cases we do, in fact, work effectively with remote individual clients who may be as far south as Virginia and as far north as Connecticut.  For most situations outside of the tri-state area, Kelleher Associates partners with high quality career management firms in most major metropolitan areas.

16.  In what professional associations is Kelleher Associates a member?
